WJE Projects Win AIANY Design Awards

Two projects have received 2024 Design Awards from the American Institute of Architects New York chapter (AIANY).

Detroit Vacant Public Schools
The Detroit vacant historic school project won the 2024 Urban Design Merit Award. We performed visual assessments of the exposed structural systems and building envelopes of sixty-three vacant historic school properties to recommend viability for reuse or repurposing. We provided conceptual recommendations and identified opportunities for preserving, rehabilitating, and reusing the buildings.

Perelman Performing Arts Center
The Perelman Performing Arts Center in New York City won a 2024 Architecture Honor Award. We served as the roofing and waterproofing design consultant and assisted in designing at-grade floodproofing measures.
