Deromedi Family Bridge Wins ACEC Illinois Awards

The Deromedi Family Bridge—a 120-foot suspension bridge installed in a Lake Forest, Illinois, nature preserve that lets visitors explore a previously inaccessible area near Lake Michigan—has been awarded the American Council of Engineering Companies of Illinois’ 2024 Engineering Excellence Honor Award and the Judges’ Choice Award for Small Projects.

We reviewed the design documents for the proposed structure. In addition, we performed a peer review of calculations by others, compiled independent calculations, and created finite element analysis models to evaluate the behavior of the suspension bridge to validate the bridge design.
